HI, I'm MImi, A NYC BASED FILM DIRECTOR

I've spent the last four years honing my craft in NYC's independent film scenes, working on music videos, short films, and commercials for small businesses.

​

A defining factor of my childhood was the incredibly overwhelming noise. Growing up in a large household with four sisters and one brother, we all had a lot to say and were very passionate about self-expression. In the rare moments of conversational pauses, each of us siblings worked furiously to get a word in. We laughed, argued, and debated. This dynamic environment served as the perfect breeding ground for my future in crafting compelling stories. The soundtrack of my childhood gave me an appreciation for stories about real people, much like the ones told by my siblings—funny, ridiculous, and sometimes even touching.

My background in music (vocals, guitar, and bass) also played a crucial role in shaping my filmmaking career. It taught me about rhythm, the moments of movement, and the moments of stillness—how these elements drastically alter the emotions being expressed. I strive to infuse a sense of rhythmic musicality into everything I create.

After graduating from Brooklyn College with a BA in Film Production, I had the opportunity to dip my toes into every pool of video creation, from the pre-production brainstorming madness to the meticulous post-production polishing. This hands-on journey has gifted me a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to create beautiful content and a deep appreciation for everyone involved in the process.
